My mentor... my mother

My mother, Sandra Della Valle was born in Sweden and immigrated to the USA when she was only 4 years old. When I was growing up, we used to sit at the kitchen table and draw, paint, or sculpt.

She is a very accomplished artist, and I would always follow along, loving every minute of our time creating together.

She was lucky to study with renowned artist, Arthur Okamura; and it was during her studies with him that she created her series of pastel artworks.

Strong and defiant throughout life I am so blessed to be her daughter.
